Welcome to the whimsical world of Tiny Giants Creations, where we strive to evoke feelings joy through imaginative and playful needle felted works. They are alive with colour and personality, inviting you to explore your inner child!
Meet Eswen Blagdon, the sole creator behind TGC! She was raised on Salt Spring Island, BC, (the traditional territory of the Saanich, Cowichan and Chemainus First Nations), in a community abundant with artistic culture.
Eswen is a self-taught artist who’s explored different art forms all her life. She spent her earlier years drawing and painting but her true passion was born when she discovered needle felting! It’s a tactile art form that offers endless inspiration and satisfies her desire to create three-dimensional artwork (while also incorporating her lifelong love of miniatures!). Eswen's process involves using dry wool, barbed felting needles and personalized techniques (developed largely through experimentation and creative adventure). Striving to never take herself too seriously, Eswen recognizes the value of connecting to humour and imagination through art.
Eswen's work has been featured in numerous shows and events throughout the Okanagan and Kootenays, as well as a few publications. Her work can be found in private collections across Canada and the USA.
Eswen currently lives and creates on the traditional, unceded territory of the Sinixt peoples in Nelson, B.C, Canada.

"I would like to acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of Sinixt Peoples. I make this acknowledgment to show my respect for the təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland), and Sinixt Nation. I feel privileged and grateful to be here, and I invite those reading this to explore their own relationship to place."
SHE felt THE URGE!
a felting story
One day (about 2008) a friend of Eswen's showed up on her doorstep with a special delivery. Inside was a beginner's needle felting kit and a card that read: “Try this Eswen! You'll make amazing things!”
Having never attempted this craft before, she Googled it and started trying some basic techniques. She was immediately hooked! Having never experienced a medium like wool roving before, Eswen was really taken by the concept of sculpting with wool…using needles?! Wow! She fell in love with the soft, forgiving nature of the wool (the felting needles, on the other hand...not as forgiving...but the pokes are worth it)!
Forever grateful for this life-changing gift, her enthusiasm continues to grow with each creation she makes. Eswen hopes to continue making the world a cuter place, one felt creation at a time!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!
